first timer, a lil suggestion here for this great threadOriginally posted by first timer View PostI propose that we start a carb spec page maybe a link off the carb clean up page. we can follow this layout
it may be worth noting in the first post that the carb specs are often different for us bikes vs bikes for other markets
this may help avoid any confusion for readers outside the us
thanks for your consideration

Guest repliedThese carbs are off a 1978 GS750E. They are 26mm. They should be 22mm on the GS550.Originally posted by dnsmith View PostI am not sure what carbs I have on my 78 GS550. They are Mikuni round slide and it would appear they are VM26 but the number stamped on them is 47030 I can't seem to find a ref for that anywhere. Any info would be great.
Check this link under GS750 Specs and you will find the ID number that you quoted. 45030.

Hi,
I'm trying to set my idle mix on my 85 GS110G but am having problems (could just be me as I'm not experienced at "highest rev" tuning) but thought I'd check the jet sizes from the carb that came out of my bike (replaced with striped, cleaned & re-O ringed spare carb with the same size jets) Pics attached.
Store your photos and videos online with secure storage from Photobucket. Available on iOS, Android and desktop. Securely backup your memories and sign up today!
My main jet appears stock at 115 but my pilot air jet appears to be 150 rather than 170. What difference would this make?
btw, my bike has standard pipes and air cleaner and the bike that the spare carbs came from had a 4 to 1 and standard air cleaner.
TIA
Colin
