is there a differance in these airbox's

im looking at trying to buy a stock airbox for my bike its an 82gs1100g the airbox i found is for an 82 gs1100gl they look the same but as i dont have the stock airbox i figured i would ask before i waste money.

The parts cross-reference shows that the '82 1100G airbox is shared with the 1100GK for '82 and '83, but not with the 1100GL.

Not sure what the differences are, but the numbers don't match.

I was under the impression that they were the same as the 850, too, but evidently not.

The GK is the fully-dressed model from Suzuki, the GL is the "cruiser-style" one with the smaller tank, stepped seat, pull-back bars, chrome fenders, etc.

According to the fiche at alpha-sports they are a different part number.

I have often thought that the different numbers may be a form of tracking stock usage.

If the intake boots are damaged, they need to be replaced.

Sorry, but it's also a good idea if you replace them all.

Even sorrier, they are $25-30 each.
