I have had some trouble finding an OEM switch assy. So I'm wondering if I can just buy one off of a different motorcycle or even a universal one. Has anybody done this before? Thank you!

Aftermarket start/killswitch
Hello everyone! I have a 1982 GS650G, currently my kill switch is wearing out. I can hear the relay engaging and disengaging when I barely touch the switch. My worry is that I will be riding when the switch goes out on me, leaving the bike dead where it stands.

You definitely can… as long as you wire it up right.
I think Mikes XS has some nice looking retro ones. You need something pretty simple obviously and something with a throttle tube that will work on our 7/8” bars.
