Geeze!
Those pictures define crash and burn. Well at least the burn part...
What happened?

Guest repliedWhich Bandit swinger 600 or 1200? Can you send me some pic's/drawings of the pieces that you are making to mount the shocks on it as I am doing the same thing with the 1200 swinger currently myself. TIA!Originally posted by IanC View PostThey are a bit longer than the OE GS shocks but I'll be using a Bandit swingarm that I have to weld shock tabs on anyway so that can be remedied.

Yikes!
Care to share what the "series of unfortunate events" were.
Glad there were no injuries and will certainly follow this re-re-rebuild.

The front end is off of a 2005 GSXR600, there will be some changes to make things work a bit better (ie. height) and the shocks I believe where intended to fit an early Katana. They are a bit longer than the OE GS shocks but I'll be using a Bandit swingarm that I have to weld shock tabs on anyway so that can be remedied. The bearings will be sorted using AllBallsRacings handy front end conversion guide.Originally posted by GSX1000E View PostWhat are the forks and TT's off of and what bearings are you using to make it work?

Guest repliedLookin" GOOD!
I sure do like the way the Thou turned out. I think it's the second prettiest GS1000 I know of!
(very small typo suggested correction....the company's name was spelled "Derale")
Well Done son!

Update: She's gotten another paint job, this time with some pearls in the paint. The copper in the black really pops in the right light. The engine has been punched out to an 1100 and fitted with a Deraile cooler. The carbs were gone through again and then K&N pods were added. An underseat electronics panel was made up and the R1 MOSFET R/R, Eastern Beaver fuse block and relays found their way there.

That would be #1 and it looks darker than it is. Carbs were still being fine tuned. Just rebuilt them.
