I'm sure everybody is aware that the inside of headlights is subject to rust from water that gets in but doesn't get out. You can pretty much eliminate the problem by using this tip. 
When you wash your bike, put a shower cap around your headlight. The disposable kind that you might get at a hotel will work just as well as a store-bought one. After you get your bike clean, you can remove the cap and wash the headlight separately and carefully. :P
