    Help identify GS1150 shock absorber

    Hi all,

Went for first ride with boss, just around town, to see how she would go. Noticed when I did a U-turn (at crawling pace) that the centrestand dragged That just can't be good for when we do a fully loaded, spirited ride.

Examined shock and found that I had the unit shown below. The reservoir is clamped to a frame rail.

What struck me was the preload adjuster was about 5 - 6 inches up the shock and it still didn't seem to give us enough preload to give us a good ride height. The spring also seems very short & thin.

I didn't check sag or ride height, rather I employed the "bull in a china shop" strategy and pulled out the shock to check it out.

Can anyone tell me what this shock would have come from??? There are NO markings on it but there looks to have been a sticker on the reservoir at some stage. Come on Einsteins, show us what you are made of.

    thanks in advance

    Richard (+ boss).

PS NOBODY had better be thinking there was too much weight with the passenger aboard - I would get such a beating.
Working...
