    New Guy Intro

    Hi

I've just joined the forum and already had helpful advice on what Master cylinder to use on my latest project a 1984 UK GS550e. I had a Gs550 about 25yrs ago and now seem to be buying all the bikes I had when I was younger.
Ill whisper this but my other current bikes are all Yamaha 2 strokes - an air cooled RD250, a 350LC and a DT175, this is my first 4 stroke since I gave up big fast bikes in the late 90s.

First job was to get the brakes fixed so after that, went for first ride today and it was great except now I need to go through the carbs as its running weak and spluttering (A kinked fuel line probably isnt helping). I need source correct tail and side panels then I intend to change colour to black. Looking forward to transforming it into a tidy black and chrome mostly standard looking GS

Im in London UK, close to the famous Ace cafe, saw a lovely GS750 there on Sunday!

    Thanks for having me!

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

          Welcome to TheGSR.

Okay, will not tell anyone about the other bikes.
Um, who is it that should not know about that?
          Is okay with me.

Black will be cool but it sure looks good blue.

I find working on my motorcycle mildly therapeutic when I'm not cursing.

I vote for the Blue as well. Why screw with perfection? Find something else to "improve"!

Both of mine are a more subdued Forest Green -- with spokes!

Blue is a lighter, happier, upbeat color, black is a dank, unhappy, sinister color. Can you tell I'm not fond of black bikes. Either way, Good luck & welcome.

That blue is stellar. I’d leave it alone. But I’m kind of partial to it.

On my trips I usually have that much gear on my rear seat rack, but I always leave room for a blonde in-between!
