Today it became a rolling chassis again.
Used mine just the other day. They dont last forever but arent expensive to replace either
Been fighting weather and completing customer bikes. Im book through this weekend and am hoping to get back at it soon.
Why not just switch them around since youve determined they are backwards? Doesnt really require much debate.
Wiredgeorge...such a delight. I especially like his claim to run the carbs on a running engine....lol. Ill not say another word.
OK. that makes sense
Not needed on VM carbs. Set pilots and forget about them. All you need is a screwdriver for the air screws
Bottom pilot screws 7/8 out from gently seated and then forget they exist. Air screws at 1 1/2 out from seated as a start. Then youll adjust air screws only to get the best burn in the jugs. I use my...
I second the art of sentence structure and paragraphs. I started to try and read that then just gave up. Two year olds construct sentences better than that.
Propane torch or heat gun to soften the rubber. Doesnt take much
80 or newer should have the standardized 17 digit VIN...yes? My reasoning above may be flawed???? 79 frame with an 80 engine maybe????
So its pre 80..thats a start. Thus its a 79 G model. 78 didnt have 850s and any 80 or newer bike would have a standard 17 digit VIN. Most likely VM26 carbs.

does it have a 17 digit VIN on the steering head? If yes its at least an 80. the 10th digit in the vin should be the year.
I have a complete rack for an 80 G model. 250 plus shipping. Will need cleaned up and new orings and pilot jet plugs.
I'll keep you on mind......
Unscrew the brass deals inside the boots that grip the plugs too.... They are slotted as you'll see. Dump out those dammmm resistors and replace them with a piece of thick copper wire shaved down to...
And the brakes gone through... New lines for sure to make it safe.
Might not be too much left on the bone. Im assuming intakes and fork seals will need replaced. Tires are for sure junk. But i think its worth the save. But on the right day and right buyer who knows.
It sat out behind a barn in the Texas sun so long the red faded off the bike. The first thread I linked shows that result. It had oil as I recall but that doesn't negate your theory.
Mad. Supposedly it was a combo of "some" valves replaced and all lapped. I'm currently trying to find the superceded part numbers for the valves. That or has Kawasaki just replaced bad valves with...
It rattled like a coffe can full of bolts at idle and ALMOST went away at speed. I thought clutch hub bolt or basket. Took all that apart and didnt see anything wrong so i figured it was the primary...
Oh yeah....they are on mine. I was picturing the actual boot from the box to the carbs,,,lol/
I dont recall spring things. That bikes up front in one of my storage units and i havent ridden it in like 4 years or so. Just under a big blanket. To be honest id have to look at it to refresh my...
Well guess the rumor mills wrong...good to know. Thanks. Ill feel good for my next order.
I enquired about any valve work and it did have some valves replaced, lapped, and while t was apart it was honed and new rings installed. It ran and rode as it should until the starter clutch went...
