Maybe but the Japanese don't use 13mm hex head screws so it's a moot question.

So close you usually can't tell the difference. Same with a 19mm and a 3/4".

          Fine, thanks for asking.

The Japanese cars and motorcycles I've worked on don't use 11mm, 13mm, 15mm, 16mm, or 18mm, so to your point about 1/2" and 13mm being the same, my comment is that it doesn't matter (unless you are wrenching on something non-Japanese I suppose). Clear?

Oh so you're saying they do in fact use 13mm hex, just not on the bike you've worked on?
            Yeah, clear!
I was wondering why my wrench set has a 13mm wrench.
So who uses a 13mm then, the Koreans?

I use the 13 on my car. And a 12 mm is almost a 7/16". The plugs for my GS are 18mm. Within the last year, I have used every single size you listed, including 11mm, whether on my cars or my bikes, IDK.
The list can go on and on. I purchased a Racetronix fuel pump and wiring harness for my TransAm. The instructions told me to use metric sized wrenches for some bolts I needed to work on. Turns out they were SAE sizes. I told them and they disregarded me. But at least I knew and figured it out. It helps to have both metric and SAE sizes, and to have them organized correctly. (Hint, hint, Brian.)
My only point was to use the proper tool in the proper circumstance.
