Ray, with what I've seen you do on here, I wanna see you do that

If you were in Aus I'd get you to rebuild my 450 motor for me, I know it'd be worth it!

Congrats! Well I for one would love a 450 as a fun alternate to the 750. In the mean time I guess I can just ask every question twice so that I can hang out in here.

A bit of trivia....John Britten used GS1000 gearboxes on the first engines on his V-Twin racers....

        So there
        Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

        Past:
        VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Awesome section! I haven't been on in a little while since I've been stripping the bike down. Here are a couple pics of it's current state as of last night.

Now comes a couple little fab items for the frame and then paint and start re-assembling. Glad to see this forum for us to share ideas.

Nice to see this section. I haven't been around in quite a while as I have mostly been going too fast on the FZR since the tranny on the GS450 gave up the ghost

The motor is upside down on the workbench and mostly disassembled. Hopefully I can get all the new tranny parts in and get it buttoned up over the next few months...now if I can just remember where everything went that I took off

              Best,
              Mark

Ouch, that sounds painful! Good to see you're fixing it though

I'm about to reassemble my engine, starting with the tranny of course, and it should be identical to yours, so hopefully we can help each other out if we get stuck on a "where does this bit go?" question...

(Slow) Progress is in my rebuild thread in my sig.
