Anyone Tried Jet Kits from eBay Seller 6 Sigma Racing?

eBay Motors makes it easy to find parts for cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles & more. We even offer a massive selection of new & pre-owned classics, hot rods, exotics, vans, ATVs, RVs, boats and more at eBay Motors. Shop for your next vehicle, or start selling in a marketplace with 171 million buyers.

If these are good, it would solve my problem of Dynojet not having a stage 3 kit for my bike.

Anyone tried them? They "sound" pretty complete and supported and their feedback on eBay tends to support that... it's obviously not a professional setup like Dynojet of course...

Yes, I bought their kit. I am not sure if I would recommend them. You do not get much for your money, but every thing is relative considering cost of other re-jetting kits. The directions are just a copy from a older bike magazine article with very few further comments. What you get are a FEW jets, couple of drill bits, and a magazine article. They are suppose to give you specific information on the best set up for your situation. They do, but it is not very comprehensive. Didn't really get much information. You basically get what they state. I got the kit before I found this this GS owners site or most likely would not have got the kit. You could easily buy a few jets (couple dollars each) and look up a info on installation over internet (even the GS site). But they did ship it very quickly. You need to make the call on whether it is worth it.

Thanks for the reply, that's two so-so responses (one from another thread).

Jets for me here look like they'll be $8.50 each, so minimum $34.00 for two pilots and two mains.

I'm also not sure where to get suitable washers from for the needles, so I'm starting to think the kit will be worth it providing I send him photos and details and maybe the Sudco part number for my jets and things to ensure he sends the right ones.

I know that's doing half his work for him, but it makes it a hell of a lot cheaper and easier than ending up buying lots of jets and trying to find washers if it works out.

The washers are 1mm flat washers. Be sure and get stainless steel. I got mine in Ace Hardware, which you most likely ain't got down under.
Radio Shack carries an assortment of small stainless steel washers. They are SAE (not metric) but one size is "close enough". You might have one there?
If you don't, PM me and we can work something out. Not sure on the price to ship to you, but we could investigate. LMK by PM if you wish to do this.

Cool, we have Bunnings which is probably similar to Ace, a big chain type hardware store that sometimes has lots of useful stuff for a reasonable price...

You've got me thinking now that I did myself a bit of a disservice by not looking closer at the setup while I had the carbs apart for cleaning.

Well, they're semi-apart again now, so I'll go a bit further and work out what they look like and measure them up as I'm pretty confident I'll be able to get stainless washers in that sort of size.

My concern with the washers was that they were some special sort of nylon or something.

Thanks for the clarification, and at the end of the day all I should need is jets and washers to get it tuned right. So maybe the kit is just going to be two or so weeks of postage delays for not much benefit...

Pete, try JAYCAR for those washers. They come in a pack.

Dynojet kits come with a more tapered than stock needle. No way to replicate that by shimming. I'm not trying to be a bummer, just sharing.

Cheers Ed, but for my 450, there's only a stage 1 Dynojet kit, so no good for pods plus custom exhaust as far as I'm aware, so shimming or adjustable needles is the best I can do unless I try to get some needles from Sudco or something I guess.

Rapidray sells adjustable needles he believes will suit, but I'd have to buy four as he only sells them in kits for the 4 cylinder bikes.

Well I discovered last night that my needles are actually adjustable, so probably no need to worry about washers unless I get to max adjustment and it's still too lean.

They have 5 positions and it's currently on the middle one.

I also measured up for the washers if I do need them and they'd be about 7mm diameter with about a 3mm hole.

With any luck just adjusting the needle will be enough, so y'all are right, no need to pursue this kit at all

                      Hi Pete.
Im running into the same problem you seem to have solved last year. I have an 81 GS450 L with pods and a custom exhaust. So dynojet won't work for my bike. Did you end up getting your 450 successfully re-jetted? If so, where did you get the parts and what settings did you end up with. I know mine will likely be different but, your settings should give me a good place to start.
                      Thanks!

Hey mate, I ended up going up 8 sizes on the mains (too much) and one notch lower on the needle to raise it, and it's definitely too rich.

My jetting is a work in progress... with not much progress... it's my daily rider now and gets me around well but I do plan to get it dialled in a lot better yet.

Do you have K&N or APE pods on there? If you have cheapies it will probably be very hard to get it right as they can be a bit dodgy with proper air flow from all reports.

And I'd best say welcome too! You need to chuck a g'day thread over in the GS Owners forum, check out BassCliff's mega welcome that should soon be a sticky, and most importantly of all we need to see a pic of your bike!

For a starting point with your jetting, you can head to www.motorcyclecarbs.com and there's some guides there as to how many sizes up etc.

Oh, and also, our bikes have CV carbs and you need to work out the jetting from top down, so get the mains right first, then the needles, then you can get your mixture screws and pilots sorted.

Didn't want to spend a bunch of time trying to guess at the jetting, so I bought one of their kits.
Installed per there instruction with the cheap pod filters I bought and it works well. I'm not noticing any issues. It starts right up and pulls well through the gears.
I just didn't want to end up spending more in jets than their kit cost and a bunch of time pulling the carbs on and off.
It did come with sized nylon spacers that I used, since my needles didn't have adjustable clips.
Did you ever get your jetting sorted out?

Yep I did, but not on those carbs. My diaphragms were had it so I have 2001 GS500 carbs on there now and I'm running camshafts from the same bike also...
