    *** SPOILER *** Indy MotoGP

Got to watch it tonight after I taped it this morning (couldn't quite do the 4am start).

Loved Stoner winning of course and lapping so damn fast, but I gotta hand it to Spies for the ride of the race... recovered from that really crap start to be on the podium at the end, now that was a grand effort! The times he was lapping at I reckon he would've at least had a chance to give Stoner a run for his money...

Not sure which corner it was, but it seemed the same one every lap Stoner was spinning the rear up to steer it and drive it out of the turn, love it when he does that!

Yeah he didn't really go anywhere or do anything.. just sorta stayed there while Pedrosa, then Stoner, then Spies came barrelling past...

When they showed him in his pit box after the race he gave a thumbs up and a shrug as if to say "that's all I had"...

And yes, bad for Ducati! Was a shame for Barbera to lose it in the last corner after having such a fun battle back there too.

As to Rossi, well, perhaps now he and Jeremy Burgess are eating their words after saying Stoner wasn't getting results because he wasn't pushing 100%... he was getting better results on that thing than Rossi is!!! More crashes admittedly, but definitely better results... I like Rossi and Burgess too, just annoyed me when they said that stuff without actually knowing what the bike was like first hand...

Of course I know pretty much nothing and am just being critical with no knowledge whatsoever

Also, a really hilarious thing I saw today when I watched After the Flag from Brno... Cal Crutchlow answered the "who would you like to have as a pillion" question with "Someone from the public who has no idea about racing a MotoGP bike who criticises how we ride so I can scare the crap out of them"... thought that was hilarious myself

They showed a quick replay at one point and it looked like Rossi ran wide and off the track and had to navigate his way around a tyre wall to get back on track.

Hayden appeared to pit with front tyre troubles by the looks...

Just read the reports... Rossi's bike stuck in neutral several times, Hayden had front tyre issues, and Lorenzo also had front tyre issues... Simoncelli seemed to have tyre issues too...

Spies had one hell of a ride.
Everyone seemed to have tire issues except the top three. Whether it was set up, or just better tire management. Hayden made a huge gamble and ultimately a mistake in choosing the different tires. Track was just too hot and green.
Barbara pulled that last ditch move nearly right in front of where we were sitting. It was pretty daring but I think just about no one in the stands thought he'd pull it out. He stuffed the bike pretty good, track hands couldn't even push it after.

Yes it definitely seemed to be a bit of a tyre war out there to a certain extent!

Spies will win more, he just needs to qualify more consistently and get better starts...

Barbera admitted his move was pure desperation as he had absolutely no feel or grip whatsoever left in his front tyre...

However, I will say I think the ride of the weekend was Marquez on the repsol sueter moto2 bike. That was a good race for a bit, lead changed hands a few times, four or five guys shucking and jiving, throwing jabs and taking em. Marquez just sat back there for a while biding his time, and when Cortese faltered he shot through and left the field. Good bit there. He says he's staying in Moto2 for another year, but then those boys at the adult table better watch out!

Good stuff! Unfortunately I don't usually end up getting to watch the Moto2 race these days.

If Ant West's MZ was up to speed I'd pay more attention but I find it difficult to get motivated when there are no Aussies really in the thick of it...
