Redman, motivated me to get some serious miles Saturday and Sunday. Sunday it was 28' when I left and 39' when I returned.
Grabbed more miles, No ride today since it was snowing this morning. I need to replaced my bald tire.

How many miles did you get out of that last tire, Jedz?

This Shinko is ready at 9K... Last road 5 was 12K miles or so. Putting another Road 5 on, didn't ride this morning with snow on the ground... Might grab a commander 3 next season as I hear they don't wear out.

Reason I asked is that I have 8500 on the Scorchers on the bike. They still have a surprising amount of tread.

People keep talking about the amazing mileage they get from these R5s. But mine is totally shagged with less than 5k miles. Weird.

Our bikes weigh roughly the same and you ride at least as hard as I do. Likely harder. I'm at a loss. I like the tire, but it's expensive for only getting 5,000 miles.

My tires have lasted longer this year and I firmly believe it has everything to do with I'm basically doing 0% slab. All twisty back road riding. The 160 Road 5 from last year's was dead closer to 8K miles, included a trip to TN. This last 150/60 ZR17 Road 5 was 12K miles. I also found the bike is fairer to the tires if you leave the TC on. Most my riding is pleasure riding.

GBW I've experienced the Road 5's don't like the slab... I think the PR4GT last longer.

Bet that changes with the 1200 kit . Or maybe not. Looking forward to hearing your take and following your install.

I don't plan to start doing burnouts.

I never tried the PR5's. I've been running the Pr4's for the last four tire changes. I'm consistently getting 12,000 miles out of them. However they start getting wonky at around 8-9,000 miles. I ride a lot of two lane with a little bit of slab mixed in...
I'm about 250 miles away from 16,000 miles for the year. Not nearly as much as the Jedzster, but not to bad for not going anywhere. Well, Indiana, Maine, Michigan and Tennessee. I didn't even cross the Mississippi River this year. The days are getting shorter, it's getting colder, I'm pretty much done riding for the year... Who knows what 2021 will bring? 😉
