    $5000 budget fantasy build

Here we go. I was on The XL forum and got involved with a thread on a guy spending $5000 on a motor for the street. No not race.
So, if you had $5000 to spend on a GS1100 to get maxium power what would you do and how much power would you have. It could be for the street or the strip. You already own the bike and its not worn out so deduct that cost. If youre planning on doing most of the labor deduct that cost too.

    So, lets have some fun.

Mr.Turbo turbo charger...$3995. 200+hp and the rest of the $$$$ for fuel.

Buying used parts and already having the bike, including new tires, brakes and suspension,
I will have about $3,000 into the Cooley and it should have close to 165 HP at the rear wheels.
That should be enough for me.

I'd probably do what one of the guys on OldSkool is doing and slide 1127 GSXR liners in a GS1150 block, bore to suit, put some 2008- Hayabusa 18mm wristpin pistons in it, mill the block 2mm and slap a GSXR 1100 rocker arm head on it and call it good. Cheapish 1360cc. Heard 180hp from a 1327, but that might not be the norm.

Something sexy about a blower though...

I'd leave the bike as is and put the money in the bank.
Some people just have more money than sense.

I'd buy a $5,000 newer more powerful bike.

Full motor swap, maybe a gsxr 1k motor, suspensuon, and wheels.

That or sell the bike as is for 500 and pay half off on a zx14.

This is some of the stuff that went into my motor to make 180 hp. I am pretty sure it was rear wheel hp..

Sell the GS and buy a Hayabusa for $6000 and have money left over

Paint it red - it'll go twice as fast....

Ohlins, new Pirellis, Dymags, Harris billet calipers up front and possibly a Metmachex swinger. Probably leave the engine alone.
