No offense Bill, but they're not true Kats... I really wish Suzuki didn't continue to use that name... the original Kats were ahead of their time, those newer ones were just like any other sports bike of the time...

They even called a scooter a Katana at one point

This is a well debated topic over on the Kat Australia forum... and I believe those ones are commonly referred to as "Teapots"...

Well, it's not debatable, or a mater of opinion, it's a fact.

As for the pre-1988 Kats, those are referred to as “Vintage Kats” on the Katriders.com forum.

Bill's is a Katana, and a nice looking one at that! BIG improvement with the grey as opposed to the flash blue and yellow scheme. To be fair I never specified years, or model sizes. So Bill's is perfectly legitimate

As for the wire wheeled Katana. Drool . That is a very very cool bike.

Great pictures thus far, lets have some more please!

It IS a PICTURE thread and I can't understand why some posters would brag about owning them yet are ashamed to show the pictures of them ON A PICTURE THREAD.

                    My Kats:

I rode that single sider Kat since '93, after a race accident I had to rebiuld it recently:

As a daily ride I got this one:

And I have this one which is still in a project state of affairs, so no good pic of it yet:

That's the most interesting one aparently. Nice list of specs like 1230 EFE engine, Arias pistons, web camshafts, RS 38 Mikunis, ported head...

No, these are not self made, you can get them off the shelf on this side of the pond.

It's smoke that make electronic components work.
Every time I've let the smoke out by mistake, they never work again.
