    Looks like the later style brakes, didn't all the '79 models come with round brake pads?

      I don't know... but looking closer at the parts fiche and comparing the 1979 to the 1980 calipers, mine seem to look a lot more like the 1980's style:

        That's actually good, the 1980 style calipers are far superior to the previous round pad calipers.

          Well, that's good news. Just lame because their return policy is terrible ($15 re-stock fee) and means I have to re-order new ones.

          Newbie mistake.

            Those are the same brakes that I have on my 82ez. I'm sitting here rebuilding them as we speak.
