custom seat - tacky or cool?

NOT MY BIKE, but the most perfect pic I could find.

Here is a little photoshppping of an added white vinyl stripe sewed into the skunk seat.

since it is a "skunk" shouldnt the stripe go the length of the bike?

    Tacky or Cool?

Cool, if they manage to align it that perfectly.
That bike resides in Ontario, Canada.

If you can get it to look like that it would be nice. Might pick up dirt?

I don't care for it, but I can easily understand why someone might. It certainly doesn't ruin anything.

It might wrinkle when you sit on it.

It can't be seen when sitting on the bike, so as yard art it gets a thumbs-up.

I'm leaning toward it looking good new, but less so over time as it gets dirty/creased

All good points guys ! It was kind of an "over the top" idea anyway. To really match, it would also need gold stripes too.

To my eye a custom seat cover should only be done with a custom paint scheme.
The stock seat and stock paint combo look great.

Wouldn't like the stripe on the seat...too much of a single straight line. Motorcycles are not straight, they flow and have curves. But if you like it, go for it. There are a lot of things I don't like that are beautiful to someone else.

...noticed your location...we must live within 3 miles of each other.

Modify it to follow the curves of the seat, might look right then. As just mentioned, the GS is a curvy machine, straight lines don't work for them.

Not a fan, but I do think some white trim on the seat might look good.
