I went 9.12 at 151 ONCE on a stock wheelbase 1150 with a 1385 motor & a 75 shot. Front was in the air EVERY gear & tripped the finish line with the back tire. Scared the CRAP out of me & never tried it again! The front end was like a pogo stick, up & down, blipping the throttle to keep from looping it! 1988 before nitrous controllers. Ray.

Even though I hate to see a good 1100E or 1150 get turned into a "1/4 mile killer" there is no denying that the drag strip guys have a lot to due with Suzuki's legendary muscle bike status.

My GS1150 is a 1198cc with a 90 hp shot and it would scare the heck out of most riders.
I made a pass on it once bracket racing and the front lifted about 3' off the line and never touched the ground until the 1000' mark when I looked back and the guy was catching me fast. So I had to apply the rear brakes to set the front wheel back down to give it full throttle I just barly beat the guy by .0001 was the margin of victory. I belive that the wind was holding the bike up more than the hp. I ran only .15 off my dial in and was over 115mph at the 1/8 mile mark. I love passes like that when you come back to the pits and your hands are shaking from all the adrendlin not fear.

That is a lot quicker than this H2:

How did you modify yours? I went to the Winternationals for bike drags at OCIR in '81 or '82. Lots of H2 drag bikes there. Une guy got really close to the Final in Pro Stock, where of course Vance and Hines were winning everything at the time. it was cool to see so many H2's, even then.

I believe it's the wrong tool for the job but

13:78@99.75 14:21@94mph going thru the traps in 3rd gear with my bone stock 85 1150

I am finishing a new 1150E 68" street legal-clutch lever-no bar-DOT tire machine -- and will post my slips when it gets warm.

I'm planning on 8:90 range Naturally -- no nitrous --

the 'busa guys are trying for 9-teens around here -- they usually are in the 9:30s' til they spend some money.

I may do index class old school style at indy no-hatin and GLD real street drags.

I can still can run under 8:20's with the car tire slick I have. -- may tap into the 7"s squirting it this year. just to say I did it

tuned my buddy's kz last year and best was 7:36 @ 194

                    Sprocket changes & pipes only.
I recall 118 as my top speed, but that's no sub 11 1/4
                    I gotta find that pic!
                    What's the saying?

Well I found the slip, but not the pic. (yet)
I used to think I had a good memory, or did I ever think that?

Anyway, the Sub 12 second 1/4 was the milestone I was going for all them years ago. Slip reads ET - 11.92 TrapSpeed in MPH - 114.33
So I WAS a second faster in my recent memory!

I preferred the way I remembered it. Younger, Faster, Stronger & Better Looking!

Would have liked to see this '80 GS1100E, although the bars fudge the street abilities.
In one of the poor quality, accompanying clips he runs an 8.37, 157.
