    dissasemble tachometer

    Anyone have a clue how i can dismember the casing any further then seen? I have a short within the unit and need to re wire it.

    Take a thin screw driver and undo the crimp on the back of the metal bezel ring. Do a little at a time until the rolled over edge is open enough to separate the glass from the plastic housing.

    I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

        TECH TIP::: Fold up a bath towel and place the glass down on it to prevent any shocking vibes from cracking the glass...ask me how I know.

          I'll second Chuck's recommendation on the towel and also caution you to go slow when removing the bezel. There's no need to rush as doing so will cause the glass to break if too much pressure is applied when pulling it away. I rushed it and broke the glass to both my speedometer and tachometer.
