    Steering bearings

I have a 78 GS 750 and I am looking for new steering head bearings.

I saw some that require machine work and thats above my paygrade.

So does anyone know where a guy can get some steering bearings that are a direct fit.

Any bearing supply place will have them. The loose ball type bearings are really cheap. Are the races still good or do you need those too?

The races look ok the bottom ball bearings went rouge when I pulled them apart all over the shop. But when I was pulling the forks I noticed they felt really gritty.

Was kinda looking for a conversion to caged bearings that didnt involve machining

you can buy taper roller bearing sets from most good bike dealers or bearing suppliers. they dont need any "machining" to fit them.

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

Some of the 750 steams need a modification to fit roller bearings.
Go to the All Balls Bearings site for info on modification
