Good job Norm. That looks just like the bike I had in my garage just a couple of months ago.

Thanks guys for the congrats. There wasn't as many motorcycles there as in the past years. I think the weather might have scared people away. But a nice turn out never the less. It was nice talking to interested non motorcycle people. I tried to talk a wife into letting her husband get a motorcycle, that was fun. Lol There was about 12 vintage motorcycles in my class. Two little matching Honda Cubs, (poof-can restoration). A Honda 750, a old Harley... Then there's always the $50,000 restored trailer queen that shows up. This year it was a 1952 Indian with a side car. Yes, a beautiful motorcycle but wrong type of show. I'm happy for my 1000, after everything it has seen and done this past year, it deserves a little recognition.☺

Well folks, it's Canfield Fair time again. What to bring? I think the 850g is getting the call this year. The 1000e still needs a petcock. The FJR will just blend in with all the other motorcycles. I'm going to polish up the 850 tonight and be ready for tomorrow evening. The weather looks to be beautiful, I'm hoping for a big turnout. I'm also hoping to place. We'll see 👍

I just got home from the 2018 Canfield Fair Bike Nite. My 850 did not place... My falt. When I was schmoozing the judges, I told the one judge that I had one last year. He said " oh, then give someone else a shot" I told him not with this motorcycle but my 1000e. Well they gave 1st place to a nice XS 650 Yammer Hammer. I have no problem with that. But they gave 2ed place to a crap looking CB1100f. I told the guy here's five bucks, buy a can of engine degreeser for next year! (I really didn't say that to him but I wanted to)! All in all it was a good time. I ate some good (not good for you) fair food. The 850 might have not won tonight, but it's a winner in my book.🌞

It's that time of year again, The 2019 Canfield Fair Bike Nite! I look forward to this event every year. It's fun because you can ride your motorcycle in and park it right on the midway! This year will be a little different for me, I won't have a motorcycle entered to be judged. The 1000e needs a petcock, the 850 needs a battery... The FJR is just a run of the mill bug catcher. I think I'm going to ride the Harley tonight, I'm trying to sell the slug anyway. The only problem I see is trying to find the bike amongst all the other Harleys there. I guess I'll just look for the one with the helmet on it....

Interesting to see this you being a reoccurring participant.

WHen you say "right out on the midway", does that mean with the general fair-going public crowd passing by??

850 battery should be a quick fix.

Yah, might be a good place to advertise the HD.

Well, I was getting the Harley ready to go, polishing it up... I started to do a little investigating to see where this whiff of gas smell was coming from. Turns out there is a small tube that goes through the fuel tank to the fuel gauge.... Well it was leaking. I didn't want to take the chance of it getting worse, so I parked it. Pulled out the Yammer Hammer, gave it a quick bath and that's what I rode. (I think it wanted to go anyway). Yeah Redman, parked right on the midway, people everywhere. So far nobody has been run over or got hurt that I know of. I'm sure if something happens it will shut down the event. I had a fun time, ate some good fair food, ran into people I haven't seen for years. Can't wait till next year. 😃
