Correct size and length for horn mounting bolt 1979 gs850g

    Hi everyone,

I just purchased a Chinese made "electric machine horn" to replace the little pitiful "meep meep" horn the PO strapped onto it.

My current horn is held on by a metal screw down hose clamp.

The new air horn came with a nut and bolt but it's only 2 inches long.

What is the appropriate length and diameter for this ?

    Thanks

    Sean

most OEM bolt sizes are encoded into the part description if you look at the parts finch for the item of interest.

Which bolt are you talking about? Is it #15 or #18?

As Posplayr said, the size is encoded into the part number. The #15 part number is: 01500-0816B. The 0816 indicates it a M8 x 16mm bolt.

The #18 bolt is part number: 01500-08127. The 0812 in the part number indicates it's a M8 x 12mm bolt.

      Hope this helps.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.
