This kid is really into his super heroes. He also has costumes for Iron Man and a couple others.

So we were hanging out by the creek and the older kid got knocked in by the great big doggy. He didn't freak out but I did have to save his life. It was coooooold. Luckily mommy had extra dry clothes.

Great times Gustov. I really missed my annual week of camp (Due to COVID) with my son and the rest of my Boy Scout Troop. Looking forward to an overnight backpacking trip coming up Labor Day weekend.

I tip my hat you guys doing cool grandkid stuff.
My sons got short changed. My father passed two months before my first was born and my father in law, while a nice guy, doesn't do much. He pretty much stopped when he retired 15 years ago.

follow are a few more of our trip. My grandson is 6'4" and weighs the same as I at 5'9, but strong, I used to scare the heck out of him when he was small for some reason.

This is the Strawberry side of the ridge, elevation 8140, not much left after the fire.

coming back down, then a little time for fishing.

if you look close in the top 1/3 center you will see 3 white dots in a row, part of the local mt goat heard.

Talking about influencing grandkids: my next-door neighbors had the grandkids for a week and I told them this would be a great time to get the ice cream maker out that i gave them 2 years ago that they'd never used. So we all made ice cream that night, and a good time was had by all. Made plenty and told them: "No cranky, no ice creamy". So everyone took a turn cranking, everyone had ice cream and they have some good memories to take home. Not just influencing the grandkids, but influencing the grandparents as well. Have no doubt they'll be doing it again sometime soon.

Wow, that brought back some memories of all us kids taking turns cranking the icecream maker handle while grandpa watched over us. Loved that homemade icecream 🙂

The first time that I cranked the handle on the ice cream maker was around 1965 on a ranch just outside of a town called Wamic. I milked the cow, separated the creamy, mom made the mix, dad added the rock salt and ice....I got to crank, was glad to, not many treats back then...so good memories, thank you for that.
