    Almost brand new!!!!

Hey guys I got a great pawn shop find. I found in a pawn shop the next town over a 1978 GS1000. still has original paint and looks fairly new motor is still shiney, almost no rust spots, or dings [ it has one spot on the tank and a scratch as well] But here's the real kicker on this bike. It has less then 6k miles on it.

    Photos or it didn't happen.

Hint: upload photos at flickr or similar and then post the IMG code here so photos show up in high resolution

It's easier for the viewers if you just put the pictures in your post. So here they are...
Looks like a good starting point.

That bike is a 1979, as referenced by the lack of an indent on the gas tank. Or, someone changed the tank. Either way it's a fantastic bike. Enjoy!

Cool bike! Did you get a good deal?

Years ago I purchased a Honda XR100 in mint condition from a pawn shop in RI.

Yeah I got a great deal on it. They 1800 on it. But I traded a old camper I was gonna sell anyway and I got the bike 500$ cash and a guitar for my kid. Not a bad day.

Looks like it's all there.. Congrats, now the work starts! Does it run?

There are several things you can do to make it more fun/safe/reliable depending on your intentions.

New tires would be the first thing... Electrical upgrades, fork upgrades, brake lines / rebuilds / swap.

You're also going to want to change out the intake O rings & the carb O rings if it hasn't been done & check the petcock is working properly. Check the tank out for rust too, especially the back right hand corner if it's spent a lot of time on the sidestand with low fuel, that's where they rust first...
