Sandy, sorry to hear. Heal up well.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

No direct hit but definitely some abrasion that would have been the side of my head and face. We ride tons of single track so good gear is mandatory. Current lid is Giro mountain rated with the MIPS compression system. Love it ...even more now.

Thanks Glen. I've been blessed with good genes and usually heal up pretty quick from most forays into the dark side. Turning 70 next month hopefully that still holds true. Not nearly ready to quit yet. LOL.

Wow. I can see why you're following him. There are truly some amazing older athletes out there. Mean while for the next month or two I'll be banished to the hamster cage ......better than the dog house.

Kona's are sweet bikes. I've had two, A Cinder Cone and a Hahanna.

Mine's a Cinder Cone and love it. Being hard tail it's light, simple and climbs really good. At least anything I'm capable of. It's been a great solid and relatively maintenance free bike for the 3,000 or so kilometers I've put on it. While I'm down I probably go over it. Rear wheel bearings seemed a little growlly the other day and I'm sure it's ready for a cassette and chain.

I've had so many great bikes, but Kona is on a short list of faves, along with ControlTech and Norco. The current and veteran member of the stable is a high end Diamondback, and I just don't see ever getting rid of it.

Just swapped out the lower carbon bar for a Atomlab 3" riser. Experimenting with Happy Hands lock-on cork grips.
