I would love to go to the IOM, but I figure to do it without a "tour guide" it would be tough for a first timer. So I put the NW200 on my bucket list. Dont know my geography, but as long as your in that neck of the woods how about this? Not trying to hijack the thread...Thanks for the great posts!

I went over to the Ulster Gran Prix in 2011 and the Armoy "Race of Legends" in 2015 and had a great time at both. Weather makes or breaks the meet. I have a friend who I met here (GSR) who took me to the races once I got over. His house seems to burnt to the ground last night and I may need to make other plans in 2022 for the UGP 100th meeting.

I went to the NW200 this year with my wife and a buddy and his GF. It was also a substitute for the IoM due to difficulties finding accommodation and stupendous pricing of everything at the IoM. Had no local guidance for the NW200 but I did get some decent advice from people on an email list I am on. It was no issue to book accommodation, prices were reasonable and the people all around the area were very friendly and helpful. As Charlie G says, the weather is a big unknown and can really mess the works up. It was about 50/50 for us, with great weather all week, including the Thursday races, but rain and crap on the Saturday that significantly affected the racing. IMO, overall it was a great experience and very worth the trip despite the weather issues.

If you have any questions about it, PM me and I will answer what I can.
