Took the TuRD for a short jaunt into the mountains the other day. Had to get creative with some road clearing.

Then saw a herd of about 20 of these gals crossing the road in front of me.

I could sense someone to the left watching me and saw this guy ...pretty bird, I wonder what he was scheming up.

Thanks Rich. I think it's some sort of storm drain that drains into the ocean, or it may be connected to a large pond on the other side of the main drag by the beach. It's much longer then it looks in that zoomed in cropped pic. I dig the beacon light.

Thanks guys. I was incredibly pleased with these. Had a bunch of bad images due to having trouble with manual focus. Still trying to get accustomed to that, plus trying to focus a dark scene added to it.
I want to go back and try some more.

I really like both of those shots Glen. The low contrast almost mono colour and simple composition really worked for that one. Big expansive landscapes are my kind of thing. The other one with the ultra-long exposure is also pretty impressive and something I've been meaning to play around when I can find the proper subject.

Kind out of season but took this last spring. Going back up there tomorrow for, hopefully, some fall colours.

Thanks Sandy, I finally took the advice of people smarter then me and changed the ISO from auto to 200 or as close to that as possible. It's taken away the handheld option in low light conditions, but the improvement in image quality is well worth the tradeoff.
