To add. .. the beach shot was taken using my old Pentax adapted 50mm lens. I find it interesting that the color recorded with that lens is lens is noticeably less vivid then with the native Panasonic lenses. I generally can't be bothered, but I've thought about going into the custom color menus and making a setting for that lens. Probably would require a lot of trial and error though.

Glen your posting of recent are stunning and amazing.

Interesting that you mention the custom color settings and such. And state it so casual, as if it is a well familiar subject and should be common knowledge to anybody with any experience.

Whereas, me... me last week took some shots at beach on overcast afternoon

and was a bit puzzled at the overall color, but though was related to the overcast. Spent lot of time poking around the EXIF and the camera settings, and was quite a while before I found the WB button on camera back, and see it got fumbled onto the "incandescent" selection. Dooahhhh.
Changed that, and see the difference

So that is pretty much my first experience with WhiteBalance. ... and I see (just this morning) on my camera anyway, is places for two different custom whitebalance custome settings.

Dave, I'm not sure if yours is the same, but on mine scrolling to the end of the different settings in WB brings up custom color settings, where one can..... make one up.

Bob, I like the piggy and old coins. The pic protruding into the black is nice.

A daily view from Albuquerque I miss is the hot air balloons throughout the year landing or taking off near my house. It's something we just don't see that often out here so when the wife called me at the garage, I was glad I brought my camera with me. Jumped in the car and ran up near the airport where I saw two of the three she mentioned with one landing at the airport (the other looked to be coming down in a housing area)

Oh Oh, could lead into more in-depth endeavors (and/or more frustration, that's what hobbies are, right?)

If this is a place you can return to, maybe can think of what lighting condition and what time of day (and/or year) might be better than others.

If it was the reflection of the trees that you were wanting to include there in the flowing water , yah, your eyes and mind kinda average/remember/blend the image over time, and the photo is a snapshot in time (1/100 of a second in this case).

Other thing is that the reflection is a lesser amount of light, And you standing there looking at the reflection which is less light can notice the reflection while looking at it for a while.

Try other times of day. Try framing just the water so the light on the trees is not effecting the auto exposure.
Ten different people would probably have ten different things to say.

Sorry, I'll try to get some balloon pics next weekend. I enjoy chasing them on the bike and sharing pics. Too bad the Fiesta got canceled this year, but the separate launches from five parks around town will help keep the spirit alive.

Interesting and good that I picked up the latest Samsung S6 tablet and can now grab the BBcode by logging directing into the Flickr website without it flipping over to the mobile website. It does this using Chrome but not while using Firefox .....go figure eh. Anyway some fall colours from a walk the other day and I pulled a Glen on this one because it's straight off the camera.

I went out for one more try at the moon / beach last night for this moon cycle. Nothing great, but interesting observations. It was clear last night , resulting in a much darker scene. The last two nights there were low clouds reflecting the glow of the many streetlights onto the scene along with diffusing the moonlight. Last night the foreground and rocks in previous images were mostly very dark. Focus was a bit easier without the clouds, but still a challenge, as was composition. Exposures ranged from 25 seconds when the moon was low to around 13 once the moon was higher up. I wasn’t really impressed with any shots I got last night.
