    RIP Don Sharp. aka "Sharpy"

Been seeing posts all over facebook that Don has sadly passed away. Never met the guy but have had some very interesting and informative conversations with him on Facebook.
This was posted on his facebook page by, i guess, a member of his family.

Hello everyone, I have some sad news Don Sharp “Sharpie” passed away last night. We are not sure of the details at this stage, and the family is coming to terms with it.
I will keep you informed of the funeral arrangements if you are interested in paying your respects.

I am sorry to hear this news. Me and Sharpie went around and around a couple of times. He called me a butcher, I'd tell him he didn't know what he was talking about. It was just professional banter. He did help me out when I was trying to figure out my rear wheel spacing on my 1000e. I always liked his CAD drawings and his cam caps were pretty cool. I wanted to make a set of cam caps just to throw it back at him. Even though we didn't see eye to eye sometimes, I did respect him and feel sorry to hear about his passing. RIP Sharpie...

R.I.P. sorry to hear of this. As noted, I also enjoyed the tech and drawings he shared here.

Sorry to hear this. We'd had some productive discussions on here and shared reminiscences of racing in the same period.
Even knew some of the same people.

Condolences to his family and friends.
