    Unsteady needles on Clocks

    Hi folks,

Does anyone have a fix for me on this issue. The needles will hold steady up to a about 4000 rpm where after it starts jumping around. I have replaced both speedo and rpm cables and they are properly fitted and tightened. My guess it is the mechanisms inside the clocks that are faulty.( the worm drives in the head and wheel is also OK)

    Thanks,
    Danie

Before you start pulling your clocks apart test them using an electric drill in reverse and a short length of the old inner cable to drive.

I have lubed the insides. Heres what to do. Take a drill and a 1/4 inch drill bit and GENTLY drill a hole on top of the white housing just ahead of the nipple the cable screws onto. Drilling with a shop vac hose near to suck up shavings is a good idea too.

Once youve breached the housing you can lube the axles. Qtip and some white grease is what i did. I used some black RTV and made a puddle over the drill hole to seal them up.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
