    Gs 1100 info pleeeeeeeease

I thought I had everything compiled to get after putting this 1981 gs1100e back on the road by spring until yesterday, I'm sure there will still be a surprise or two yet.
I just got my Mac seat cover in the mail so I went out and brought my seat in the garage to pull the old original cover off to just get a quick idea how this new cover would look. I had planned to bead blast and paint the seat pan but when I removed the cover and foam I discovered the pan in much worse shape than I expected. It's pretty rotted along the right side especially towards the nose....bummer.
So I guess I'm on the hunt for a better pan. My question is what other years and models can I look for to broaden my search to find another seat or even just the pan for a 1981 gs1100e?

    Hi woods,

Good news is you can use a host of seat pans. just a quick search on Partszilla in the suzuki oem section shows the OEM Suzuki part # to be 45100-49X00-48H

Searching that # in ebay shows GS750 1980-82, GS1100 1980-81, SEAT assembly, # 45100-49X00-48H. So looks like you can use 750 and 1100 seats.

      "E" models only, I believe.

Hmmmm so 80-81 1100E and 80-82 750E are my choices it seems. I was offered up a 81' gs850g seat just now on a FB group so I see that's a no go.

Very few "G" or "L" parts will work on an "E"

Thank you for the input! I see now how different the seats and seat pans are. Darn it.

The caps on the tire valve stems ARE interchangeable.

Aren't they a different shade of black?

Use the red ones: they're faster.

The red ones are used when you use balancing beads. Mine came in the bead kit.
