    Update for today
When checking for why the lights aren’t working check the bulbs first.
Today I found both front signal lights blown, pretty sure the low beam is toast and I’m not getting continuity through the rear lights. The fun continues.

You should disconnect your R/R if you get voltage on your grounds.

        I’ll try that, thanks posplayr
Interesting all the bulbs are toast.
Im also going to play with the grounds some more. After more reading I noticed my battery is only grounded to my engine so I’ll run a ground from the battery to the frame. I’m also going to run a ground from the rr to the battery. Hopefully this will help. I’ve hidden all my electrical under the seat, mounted to an old oven sheet. Strange how it can running so good all last year and a few rides this spring, then bam, toast.

If the R/R looses regulation, then over voltage can blow bulbs. It will also stress your ignitor and blow it out if you persist running it that way.

Just so you know. You are bump starting your bike, not bomb starting it.

Once you take off the top triple, if you have a nut that looks like my pic, you can put the blade of a flat head screwdriver in a slot and give it a wack lefty loosely to get it off. No special tool needed. Then your forks with the lower triple should drop out of the neck. Not sure what kind of head bearings you have. If they’re loose, they may fall out all over the place. If tapered roller bearings, bearings should stay together. I was where you are last week. Was going to try to paint the frame with the front end still on. Glad I didn’t.

Surprise surprise!, it’s fixed! Parts into it were the new r/r, new stator & all new bulbs. I also drilled out a broken exhaust bolt & replaced it. As well as replacing a missing front caliber bolt, new gaskets & few new cover bolts, wiring/grounds. While I’ve been waiting two months for gaskets I had some fun getting rid of old tabs and painting. Anyways I’m stoked to report 35km on it today. Thanks for all the help here. You’all have been a great help. Cheers, Fixer
