1982 GS1100 GL- O rings on cylinder sleeves?

    Hi all,

In the process of rebuilding the top end, but I'm unsure of the O-ring. In the manual, it say to install them, not very clear on where. But the real problem is, I can't see the O-rings on any part schematic for these cylinders. I've found other schematics that include the o-ring, and some that don't. It's a 74mm ID, but it shows it going right over the bottom of the sleeve. Is that correct?

The O-ring goes around the liner and into a groove in the cylinder (on the bottom.) They keep oil from wicking up between the liner and cylinder block, where the oil can migrate through porosity in the casting and wet the outside of the cylinder.

Sorry but I can't find these O-rings in the fishe either.
