    Downsized some today!

Got rid of a couple of bikes today. Sold the 1983 Yamaha DT100 enduro and the 1978 GS550. Down to 4 bikes now. The garage seems a little bigger, along with the bank account! Probably going to start looking for a 1100E or 1150E needing work to take up some of the space!

When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!

Good on ya! We're going through forced downsizing, and its been tough working on bikes knowing I am going to sell them, especially the ones that got too little seat time.

There are a couple of 1100es for sale in the group...if you haven't already, give'em a look.

Are you thinking of selling your Ascot, too?

Yeah, gonna "try" and sell the Ascot too. Problem is nobody seems to want to pay what it is worth! (At least to me!) Most of the really nice all original ones (if you can find one) with 10K+ miles go in the $2000-$2200 price range.

Mine is immaculate and only has 4900 miles. So I will probably be waiting for that "gotta have it" buyer that's out there somewhere! Plus it's a blast on the backroads around here!

Didn't have to sell any of them, just wanting some more room in the garage and maybe something will come along that catches my eye.

Any plans for getting rid of that 2 cylinder paint can shaker? hehehe......Probably have to throw in a pair of boots to sweeten the deal.

I don't know about that. Might have to keep it a little longer. Just rode the GS1000 about 300 miles on the slabs today and I missed the cruise control, radio and air ride on the 2 cylinder paint shaker!

Although, the GS did an decent job of it! Just now getting used to not having a windshield and all the other creature comforts. Today was just a tune-up for my old body, more or less, getting me ready to ride the GS to Brown County next week. Of course, it is the hottest day of the year so far. We will see if I can get out of bed in the morning!

That cruise control is a big plus. Wish I was going to Brown County next week but I couldn't leave even if there was no pandemic. I have nursing duties right now as my wife took a fall on Saturday before Mother's day and broke her left elbow. Now I have to run her back and forth to the Dr. Oh well, it could be worse.
I mentioned last year at the rally that I would bring my GS this year. Long story short, it is not ready just yet. I did have it running last week and it sounds good. Almost ready to go.

You going to ride the 1000 to Bedford instead of trailering? Guess it's only around 150 miles right? Hope you all have a good time.

Yeah, the plan is to ride the 1000 to Bedford. Got a little practice on I-65 today. (It still sucks!) Hopefully I-64 will be a little less congested, except going through Louisville, of course. Going to try and time it so I miss rush hour there!

Hope the wife heals quickly, Larry!

Now get crackin' on that bike!

Well it looks like I may have sold another one! (No Larry, not the Harley!) Guy is coming tomorrow to pick up the Honda Ascot!

Now I'm down to 3 bikes. But I have my eye on a 1983 GS1100E that needs some work, so who knows???

Must have found that "gotta have it" buyer huh? Congratulations. Hope you got a nice big price for it. Seems like you must be in a good place for buying and selling bikes.

If I wanted to buy another bike it would probably require 400--700 miles of travel to find one.

Yeah, the guy didn't even ask if I would take less! (I would have said NO!) Of course, I was getting 5-6 inquiries every day about it! First thing I told all of them was the price is firm, and don't waste our time unless you are willing to pay it.

Almost hate to see it go, but it was not getting used at all and I needed to get it out of the garage before I start to build a new one.

And Larry, 700 miles is not too far to get a nice Harley! Come on down!
