Who can tell me about Koni 7610-1394 rear shocks (possible 1983 GS1100E) rebuild ?

These are literally new old stock - never installed but also obviously in need of rebuilding. Are they worth the time/cost ?

Are they leaking oil from the shaft seal? If not , maybe you can remove the springs and just buff up everything and paint them.

Yeah. Mount em and check for leaks or poor function.
            Rebuild if need be.

              Ok then - I’ll do that !

I don’t see any leaks but I don’t think they have cycled since they were built.

I can see the foam (wipers?) are disintegrated - not sure how important that is.

Given the price of new ones (even as Ikons as they are now), definitely worth rebuilding them.

                  Yes i would rebuild them.
Cool factor as well as being good shocks.

I lucked into a similar set of eye-to-eye Konis a few years ago. Got a rebuild kit, but could not remove the gland nut to install it, so I'm riding with them as-is. I have installed heavier springs, but otherwise all stock. I like them a lot.
