Holy S. Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery.
That's a pretty spectacular damage list. As you noted, thankfully the neck / spine are ok.

Another bright side is that at least it wasn't one of your classic bikes.

          Yes.

Good that no head or spinal injury. Good that you didnt get out front of the truck.

Each injury you listed will take a good amount of recovery.

Just one or two broken ribs is enough, but 14, man, that is every one on one side and more.
          Collar bone, .... hip
.... and the bruising and the surgery.

Take care, And do the PT(when you get to that).

          Thanks for update.

So it sounds like part of what you are telling us is: at an intersection, dont look only at the cars at the intersection, also look a ways down the road from the intersection.

Oh, dear Trevor. Reading through your story and being with you as you express your feelings...so many feelings!

The body does amazing things to survive during trauma and the adrenaline was pumping through your veins.

Through it all, I am glad you are alive and cognizant to know how your wife felt when she saw you.

That's one of the dreaded feelings my wife reflects on about me riding...since I started riding in 2011.

My prayers are with you for healing and recovery from such a dramatic experience.

Keep us posted on your status.

Sending positive healing vibes your way, even though the border is closed.

My daughter is stuck on the island too.

On a good note, the timing for a motorcycle enthusiast to heal is during the approaching winter season.

Were cars parallel parked on both sides of the intersection?

I notice when I visit Victoria, some 2 lane roads blend into one abruptly, so if you're in the outside lane you'll be hitting parked cars, if not paying attention.

Here's a more current movie recommendation (2019) though I like early 70's flicks with no capes & cgi.

Might be more trippy on pain killers & I recall a thread back n forth w/you awhile back regarding the subject matter.

Was just thinking the other day, it's a pita to get all geared up just to go down the shops and nearly didn't bother. Only goes to show, the local roads are the more dangerous for a couple of factors - frequency and familiarity.
I've had a few close encounters with texting / drinking fools around here, but so far have escaped collision, and that's mainly due to half-expecting asshats around every corner.
You'll find the major injuries will heal, but your broken finger - pay attention to how that sets; small ones like that get overlooked and it might set crooked.
                            Heal soon, buddy.
Thanks for your kind words...I was wearing my Shoei 1200RF full face helmet...Icon heavy leather jacket with D30 back and arm armour. ...the finger lol...was an afterthought even though I noticed it while I was waiting for help...I was about 5 days in the hospital when I said "hey doc, maybe we should take a closer look at my finger"...xrays showed it was fractured and he gave me the option of surgery and pins or a splint...It was pretty straight so I went with the splint...I'm pretty hyper aware of the whole "most accidents happen close to home" thing and think about it a lot as I often ride in my hood.

So two drivers blowing through the stop sign in rapid secession? What's up with that? Reminds me of driving in Thailand and Taiwan where people treat traffic laws as mere suggestions.
Sorry, I didn't explain that well...the first car did stop.he was just there before me therefore had the right a way to go first.
There was no one at the stop sign at my left and you can't see that far beyond the stop sign because there is a used car lot on the left corner blocking further view down the road.

Been there, done that... in 2011 I collected a broken femur, wrist, and ankle thanks to an unlicensed left-turning triple-faking phone poker, with witnesses, and she did not receive a citation, not even for not having a license. I've never been able to figure that one out.

And yep, I see people running stop signs and red lights nearly every day. It's one of the reasons dual-sport riding is so appealing; fewer people equals fewer encounters with the vast hordes of the utterly brainless.
I hear ya about dual sport riding..and it's the same for me why I enjoy off road riding on my DR650
As for physio, we have very good insurance here (ICBC) which is Gov provincial insurance for all (I know, very socialist/commie like lol)..and even if it was my fault there is up to $150,000 in reimbursement for any rehab, aids, etc that I may need....and I am in the best shape of my life before the accident..which doctors say helped me not be more seriously injured...I have been going to a personal trainer twice a week and working out another two days on my own a week for the last 19 months...I was deadlifting 385lbs. So I'll be on it.as much as my injuries will allow...I'm lucky to have close friends that are nurses and OT's.

You have vast knowledge on the potential perils of pain management. Take care.
Ahh yes...I can't tell you how many clients I have had that became addicts because of being hurt in an accident or on the job...it was scary when they said they were giving me fentanyl in the ER...then I was put on an epidural (injection to my spin) of constant Dilaudid that I could push a button up to every 30 min to give myself more as needed. And I did use it a lot in the early days...but I was hyper aware. They took me off the epidural on day 5 and was put on Dilaudid orally...we continued to wean that down but it was difficult to get the right amount at the right time...I had some horrible nights...very high blood pressure and so much pain. It was the last three nights that we started to get it right and on my last day and night we switched over to Tramacet with an option to take Dilaudid if needed.
When I came home Thursday I had a script for 20 more pills of Dilaudid but my goal was to take none of them and stay on Tramacet only....Friday I had so much pain that I took half of a Dilaudid pill.
Of course the other problem was bowel movements because of the meds....I got in on a monday and by Sunday I had "no news" yet..lol...so an Enema it was...I think I saw a priest and Linda Blair in the bathroom with me....I had to have another on Wed..since being home I have had two on my own....so I got that going for me, which is nice.

It sounds like he was speeding if you’re saying he wasn’t there a few seconds before. I assume the Bandit is insured but they should still be taking care of the rest of your stuff.
The Cops came to interview me in the ER the night of the accident...I told her my story and asked her what the couple had said happened...she said "we interviewed them separately and they both said they stopped at the stop sign"...I couldn't believe it!...I asked if there were any other witnesses and she said the only other person only saw me flying through the air and could not say if they stopped or not...I was so deflated at that moment...thinking great..my word against the two of them...of course I retained a lawyer...and my lawyer said not to worry as the accident scene would prove beyond a shadow of doubt that they did not stop...I mean it would be ridiculous to think that two people stopping at a sign then meeting in the middle of an intersection would produce this kind of result.
But it gets better.... ...the next day my 17 year old son went down to the car lot on the corner of the four way stop and saw they had cameras outside...went in and asked if he could see surveillance from the night before......and BOOM....there it was, plainas day....perfect footage of me coming up to the sign and stopping with no other cars at the stop signs...me getting to the cross walk and still no cars to my left can be seen at the stop sign....not only did he not stop..but police say he was obviously speeding too!
My son video taped the video on his phone...we called police and they went and got the video from them...my lawyer was very happy...lol...I'm so proud of my son. The cops fumbled around and said to me "We just want you to know that we would have gone looking for video surveillance"....yeah right! They didn't even give the guy a breathalyser at the scene....I asked why and she said "he didn't appear intoxicated..." so there was no reason....well in BC cops don't need a reason..but f me, how much of a reason do you need?? He blew a stop sign, almost killed me and it was at 7pm on a holiday Monday!!
