    Default 2001 yzf600r

I just scored a very nice (garaged) 2001 YZF600R with 7800 miles on it for $1400. The carbs need to be cleaned but it looks to be a real nice bike overall.

After its running I plan to install a Factory Pro shift kit.

Congrats. That one looks to be in great shape.
That is a lot of bodywork especially seeing the belly pan.

A friend had one years ago around that year and the transmission gave him grief. Synthetic oil helped a bit.

Yes, from my understanding it’s the spring and shift arm that cause the damage. The kit allegedly should prevent it from my readings on the YZF forums.

Those were surprisingly comfortable, and a pretty perfect balance of power, agility and good looks.

Yeah, nice Thundercat. I was looking for one of those 10 years ago.
