    Help!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, got this gs550l as my first bike it did not start had someone work on it . Cleaned the carbs dud some new wirering and some other parts after that bike started but kept on dieing. I'm not a bike mech. Never worked on them . I changed the oil and noticed gas in it . If there is any one from New Jersey that know these bike and wants to make some extra money email me at Gkorzec31@gmail.com. I already spent a ton on this bike so not looking for another mechanic that's gonna come and watch YouTube vids on how to fix it . Thanks in advance

Have you tried turning the idle knob up? Its the big knob between the center two carbs. Also see if it stays running with a little choke applied then dies when you let choke off. This will indicate that the idles set to low.

Also, whats this guys background that did the carbs???? Lots of experience or what? Im curious as to if he did a full tear down and did them properly or if he was one of those " I sprayed carb spray in all the holes" hacks.

I rebuild carbs the right way if you feel you need my services. OR you can use the carbs rebuild tutorials on the right side of this sites home page to check them yourself. Whatever youre comfy with. SAVE THIS PLACE.

If you’re serious about keeping this critter ,Send the carb rack to someone on this site that knows how to do it right....
gas in oil....could be carb problem...or petcock failure- easy to check latter. Make sure you understand correct petcock operation.

Question for chuck. Just wondering how the price for doing the carbs on an early 550, with 4 carbs, would compare to doing the carbs on a later model 550's that has only 2 carbs. Wifee had an 84 550ES for a while, but we never the dual carbs off.

I flat rate them. 50 bucks per carb plus parts and return shipping. It averages out to around 325 or so all said and done. That is if none of the seats, float needles, etc etc dont look to need replaced. 325 is the rebuild with orings and new bowl gaskets plus shipping.
