    Quick HeliCoil question?

What is the recommended threadlock product to use for HeliCoils on cylinder and head blocks?
Will put in HeliCoils on a couple of trashed threads (rocket cover and can chain fastener), and would instinctively go for the green loctite threadlocker fluid, but not absolutely sure this would be the right choice.
What are others using in this scenario?

    Thanks

Green is for preassembled threaded items and is thin for wicking. Not the best choice in my opinion. Where I work we typically use red or a paint/primer material to guard against corrosion. Blue would work too. Apply before installing the insert.

I've been using helicoil type inserts for over 40 years and never used any type of thread locker.
It's not needed on non permanent fastenings and they are designed to work as such.
If you use any sort of thread lock on them there's a high risk of the fitted bolt picking up thread lock residue which may cause the coil to be wound out the next time the bolt is removed.

I'll see your 40 years and raise you another ten, lol.
        Agree completely.

Any coating should only be anti-corrosion.
