    77 GS 750 front master cylinder/lever replacement

Are all GS models master cylinders interchangeable for 77 to 80 GS's? I have a 77 750 with opportunity to get used 78 550 master cylinder. Will it work? Or should I get new and what brands recommended?

It's more the bore size that's important.
14 mm for single disc models
16 mm (5/8) for twin disc models
    1978 GS 1000 (since new)
1979 GS 1000 (The Fridge, superbike replica project)
    1978 GS 1000 (parts)
    1981 GS 850 (anyone want a project?)
    1981 GPZ 550 (backroad screamer)
    1970 450 Mk IIID (THUMP!)
    2007 DRz 400S
    1999 ATK 490ES
    1994 DR 350SES

Personally I would get something more modern if you're not worried about originality. One from a KLR 650 would fit a single brake model as would one from an EX300 or similar. I like the EX650 for the twin brake models.
