    Gs650e

    Hey Guys and Girls,

Just bought an 82 GS650E in NZ. The bike was bought in Canada and the po rode it around Canada and down into the Sates. Had 7000 when the PO bought it. has 13300 on it now.

I live in Aus and am more of a Yamaha Guy, (ok, ok, you can stop throwing rocks now), but when this came up i just couldn't go past it as i know these sorts of buys don't come up every day, Did some research and these seem to have enough power to do the trips on the highway and around town and are economical. Plan regular trips back to NZ from later in next year, (covid permitting), for family, (grand-kids grow up fast), and this little baby will be just the ticket, (hope not to many) to do the trips when i want.

Pics to follow. This is the third attempt to post a thread and each time i added pics the site froze up..........not my fault, youse guys must be doing something wrong........so i will see if it posts and will work on the pics...........

I'll bet you meant 8200 mi., 38 yrs. & 8200 mi., dang that thing has been kept well, no dust under the seat & pipes aren't showing gold color yet, looks great. Just think going from Yama to Suzuki, you won't even need to think about transmission problems any more, heck with Suzuki you won't have to worry about anything any more. Congrats on a really nice looking bike & oh yeah, Welcome to GSR.

Being Canadian and now NZ it is all in Kilometers not miles............Thanks for the welcome, and leave my poor yamie out of this, lol. Actually the XS650's don't have the gearbox issues the XS750/850/1100's have. They can loose a dog occasionally but that second gear not so much............still won't pries the Yamie from my cold dead hands

Blows me away the condition the PO has kept it in. Lovely lady to, she was a little defensive when i first started to deal with her (due to a previous buyer messing her about and pulling out of the deal), and now she can't do enough to help me get this done. Payed a deposit and the paper work will get sorted after the new year.

*Signature doesn't want to transfer to my posts. .................Got it written in my settings............. Shows in the preview box and shows in the box below, (edit signature), that this is my signature. ..........when i press save Signature it doesn't transfer into my posts........???

                      *Scrap that it works

Worked out posting pics mainly. I don't use host's, all my stuff is kept on hard drives and i back them up every few years to another hard drive incase one fails........

Don't like how intrusive these clouds and social media's are on individual privacy and like to have control, (yea right as much as being on the net allows), of my own Data, and pics.

                        Yep. Signature works.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, the best way to get the pics to show up large in a post is by pasting the BBCode of the image copied from a pic hosting site using the method I described. That’s what I’ve done here after downloading your pic from to my phone then uploading it to my Imgur account:

These pics are a screen shot from the for sale add. That is why some are small. unless some one else worries, i not concerned about having to click on the pics to get them to full size..........

Been doing a lot of reading. Got the search worked out when looking for GS650E specific posts. Kinda rare.

On the fish files some of the 81 and 82 GS650E parts have 2 separate parts for different engine no's, like its a change half way through the production year, but it happens in the both years.
