    Default 2021 Music thread

If there's been a thread like this I don't remember it.

What are some songs or groups you like?

I'm a Deadhead, I dig folk music, I like Metallica, and classical music as well (particularly piano stuff).

    Here are a few favorites:

Nanci Griffith, Love at the Five and Dime

Michael Franti, Life is Better with You

Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Helplessly Hoping
"I have come to believe that all life is precious." -- Eastman, TWD6.4

    1983 GS 650GL (my fourth GS) -- 23,500 miles.

Well....if you like folk, this is an old one you may never have heard, from a singer you also may not know of, but she has a truly lovely voice.

Enjoying The Jayhawks quite a bit lately. Their newest album is less than a year old, and the first track should give you an idea of whether you'll like them if you haven't listened to them (or perhaps forgot about them):

I play a guitar and have for over 45 years so I am partial to music with a lot of guitar. Zeppelin, the lemon song, or just about any thing else they play. Grunge, from the 80's forward just about any of it from Meat Plow to Plush, and even Yellow Ledbetter. Then there is The Doors, Hendrix I'm still trying to perfect his version of the star spangled banner. ZZ Top and much of the Blues, My likes list is pretty long. I do miss the old days dropping by hanging out at CBGB's in the East village when I was in town. I saw James Osterberg JR filthy drunk at a watering hole in Key west a few years back. That brought be back to the East Village. Music is sort of a form of art that flows through the air and moves me, I couldn't imagine life without it. As far as today, Taylor Momsen in The pretty reckless has caught my attention. They remade We will rock you IMHO better hotter than the original. Take me down by them is one of my favorites to play on guitar. Being an audiophile I do like to just listen too.

metalfab, thanks for posting "The Passenger". I do like me some Iggy Pop.

My musical pallet is very, very wide. I dig funk, pop, country, R&B, rap...all of it. That said, I gravitate toward hard rock and heavy metal. My stand byes are the bands I was into in the 90's such as AIC, Soundgarden and Chevelle. The last few years though I've been listening to slower, doom/stoner metal like YOB. A band I've been listening to A LOT lately, while workin on my bike actually, is a local Seattle band called Sun Crow. Highly recommended, if your into that sort of thing.

Alternatively, I've also recently been listening to Spanish classical guitar player Andre Segovia. So, yeah I'm kina all over the map.
