I will get vaccinated as soon as it's available for me.
    Why wait?

    Thanks for posting, metalfab

It's a little more complicated than that. The immunity mechanism is not exactly same, having had Covid vs. getting vaccinated. Probably a good idea to do some research on those questions.
I'm in the same situation, and what I'm finding is the recommendation is to just get the vaccine when it's your turn, just ignore the fact that you've had Covid.

Yes, I know I could go ahead & get it, but hate to waste the vaccine on me when so many others are needing it, if I already have the anti-bodies & don't need it. Wondering how long the anti-bodies I already have will last? Also wonder how long the vaccines are good for, If yearly, like the flu, some will be needing to get vaccinated again before everyone gets their first one. Soooo many questions.

Rich has it right: Get the shot. It should be considered a civic duty. Don't waste time thinking about any relative immunity you may have as a result of contracting the virus. Remove as much doubt as possible about your immunity by getting the shot.

Yup, being an old timer and fairly high on the list to receive the vaccine, I have moral qualms about accepting it before younger more vulnerable front line workers - police, first responders and people who work in retail. Retired, I stay at home most of the time so have a low risk of contracting. Regardless, here in Canada its looking like it will be a long long time before that decision need be made.

No one really knows how long immunity lasts, or what the variability from person to person is. We also don't know if the natural immunity from having had one strain of COVID transfers well to other strains.

I'm in the same boat, don't want to take a dose away from someone who needs it more. But given that I'm not a high priority person in the first place, when my turn comes around I'll get the shot. By that time everyone who really needs it will have already gotten it.

Up where I live the availability of the vaccine is pretty bad. Right now they're only giving it to people older than 75. We're waiting to hear from our local medical center

Dose 1 in the arm, dose 2 the 27th. Totally organized process, about 10 people every 15 minutes. In and out in 30 minutes including 15 minute observation. I was fortunate to have an ongoing relationship with the UW health system, logged in to Mychart, clicked the button, got in 7 days later. My GF lives in a different county, been trying to get her an appointment for weeks. Not so organized...

Took my wife down to St James's in Pompey for her jab today. She's a teacher with an extremely vulnerable pupil in her group so got bumped up the priority list. Really well organised at the hospital, in and out in less than 15 minutes.

Neither of her legs have fallen off yet and no other side effects. Second jab booked for April 19th - she had the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine.

Got the moderna vaccine on Wednesday with the 2nd shot due on March 10th.

Not related to the shot but I have been sneezing a lot for the past 2-3 weeks and also have the runny nose. Probably just the cold, dry air of winter. Gawd, I hate winter.
