    Default On a lighter note

With the constant negativity we see about COVID I thought this insightful moment that shows life still goes on, and it does so in ways that are separate from COVID, and are important to many.

This win-loss-win moment in beauty pageantry might be worth a mention.
    Perhaps you have another.....

....and in this beauty pageant, a sheepish judge gets a lap dance from one of the "models"

You guys out in the provinces do things a little different. Is the pageant open only to un-married sheep? Do they dislike the name "pageant," and prefer it be called a "scholarship competition"?

Yes, in pageantry things can be a bit different, and the "scholarship competition" is reserved for fish that are hoping to get into the right schools.

It certainly puts things in a different context when it's not a 4-H style event.

    Yes, it does.

Pageantry has a lot of things happen that outsiders may not see. Some are laughable, some are not.
Many contestants break rules, and they can get pretty far afield during the events, but get no publicity unless things go very wrong.

Here, the reigning queen lost her title when she failed to maintain a good public image:

I am not exactly sure what this thread is about, but I would like to comment on " Mrs. Sri Lanka "................doesn't the winner have an obligation to be the best of the best?

In this case, the winner should be the best " Mrs". How can you be the best Mrs. if you are simply undivorced? Rip the crown off for a second time and be done with it.

I was just trying to add some "lighter" news.

It reminded me of a Miss Universe pageant where Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner, saw her get the crown, and then had to take away her crown and give it to the actual winner.

You mean when Donald Trump sneaks into the contestants' dressing room?

My first reaction to this was that it serves nicely as a 'bump' to a 'thread' that everyone has lost interest in.
Reminded me of a plot from Peyton Place without the production values.
