    Default So who has Cicadas?

We heard them for the first time today.
Looks like they started coming out last night, we have several trees with a bunch abandoned exoskeletons.

EDIT: Forgot to add, the dog already ate one.

Don't hear any at the moment, but we definitely have them here. Maybe they're not ready this year.

Do yours have red eyes and black bodies?

From what I've read they come out when the soil temp gets to 64 deg. I's thinking if we remove all the thermometers they won't know when it's 64 so maybe won't emerge...Just hoping. Not here yet.

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

My cat frequently leaves a dead bird garnished with cicadas for me. "I haven't finished the last one you got me," I always say, but bird w/cicadas is best served fresh.

I had cicadas, but the doctor gave me some cream and they went away.
