    Will 81-83 GS550L Side Covers Fit an 1982 GS650L?

I’m still in the process of rebuilding my GS650 GL. Finding it impossible to find the left side cover. I found a guy selling both off a 550L and they look super similar if not the same. But I’m asking here before I buy them.

I kind of doubt it. Partzilla suggests the 650 cover is unique to that model.

Yes, they do look a bit similar-but lot of the suzuki sidecovers do. A perfect fit to the push-in grommets and not hitting the carbs or frame seems unlikely. You will have to expect to modify them and get a "close counts" fit. If it's free, go for it. Otherwise, I'd wait until a fit comes along.

But show us what you do. I don't know myself beyond blah-blah...sidecovers from another suzuki are "possibility" waaaay better looking than some ugly bodges with aluminum sheet I've seen but on the other hand, I've seen members here do nice "steampunky" leather toolbag things that actually suit quite well...That might be a solution for you on one side...until you find the right one....or, you might be better off with an 850's covers? These might be oversized rather than too small as i think the 550s might be...?Check out pictures of various bikes on Google to see if you can find a closer match.

The Chromy/plastic parts on the 550 look especially problematic as I think there will be a joint on the back there that may interfere with the 650 frame...I'd guess the 650 frame is quite a bit different than the 550 It looks closer to my GS400 ...

Don't know if you want to buy new, and from overseas .. looks like CMSNL has both for sale for the Z model and 1 for the X model.

@ Burque-good man! I'll save that! Considering there's supposed to be a toolkit behind that cover, that needs careful cramming to get the sidecover on, that is -Especially cool.
