I love it when Ray drops his heavy hammer of knowledge and experience on the clueless armchair mechanics ot FB.

Drive-by guys are so annoying sometimes. They post in the open forum then don't come back for weeks at a time sometimes. What's up with that????

I have been on some forums that might return an answer within a week or two. I have seen some actually take over a month to get an answer. By then, if the problem still exists, the OP might not see the answer for a few days, then ask another question. Resolution is "eventual", if ever.

This is one of the fastest-moving forums I have had the pleasure of using.

I have ridden my brother's 1670 cc Harley Low Rider. But if we're talking about an inline four that big, I think it would be a safe bet that I would run it into the next life. I just can't resist the inline four surge high in the rpms. (See photo)

Actually, that wasn't the bad one. End of 2014, literally just going down the block, so left helmet home. Went too fast, braked too hard for approaching speed bump, Suzi started bucking and threw me over the bars. Never have been able to determine why she bucks, whereas my old Kaw Z1 would have controllably skidded on the rear wheel. Home in a few hours, 11E easily repaired.

18 months ago, I went for a ride on the Sporty, and didn't get home for four months. Both hips, a lot of other injuries. Pretty much all healed, but I'll never likely be able to lift my left toes or ankle ('foot drop'). So heel/toe shifter for the GS (if/when I ride again). The Sportster never made it home, RIP. When I look at the rims, I see that it was a violent event (rear rim is actually shorn right through), though I cannot remember it.
