    1981 GS850g ignition

Have a 1981 GS850G with what I think is stock electronic ignition. Did they come from the factory or has someone replaced the stock points ?

Your link doesn't work. But to answer your question: someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but It's my understanding that Suzuki replaced points w/ Electronic Ignition in all GS's from 1980 and onward.

Yes the 1981 gs850gx came with the first incarnation of electronic ignition it still retained the Bob weights to control the advance and retard then I think it was 82-83 the advance retard was controlled via the igniter

Thanks ...I was trying to show a picture (I'm new to the forum)

The mounting plate doesn't have slots to adjust the gap and timing. How do adjust those ?

I would suggest you download a Factory Service Manual from BikeCliff's Website. That site is full of useful info and how-tos for all GS's but especially for the 850G. Link in my signature.

the gap of the pickups should not require adjustments if you look at page 30 in the workshop manual you will see how to adjust the timing, yes it is for a bike with points just ignore the points the timing is the same with electronic ignition
