    Front master cylinder help plz

The front master cylinder i bought to replace the pitted original has the round reservoir cup and looks exactly like the old one. On the bottom it says 5/8 and the piston measures 15.81MM. What rebuild kit do i need? Thanks.

I assume this is the correct one????

I'm not understanding exactly what you bought. The ebay add should have told what model bike the MC came off of, or are you saying you've bought an after mkt. MC off ebay?

The bike was a 78C model originally. Bore rotted out. I changed front and back rims to mags and set it up like an E model. I bought a master from a member here long ago and forget what it was supposed to be off. Thus the only info i have is whats cast on the housing and the measurement of the bore....which is way bigger than the C model bore. C model is a 14MM bore and this bigger one is 16MM. What i need to know is what rebuild kit is for the bigger master.

chuck, you should look for a proper kit, not one that doesn't match your master.

I'm under the impression that it's the pre 1980 bikes that used the round cap master.

You are correct. Round reservoir and it has 5/8 on the underside

Dang!!! That K&L Supply Co. application chart is really confusing. The only Suzuki GS1000 chain dr. I saw listed there was for the GS1000SZ, part # 32-1083. Nothing listed for any other chain dr. GS1000.

From my research, 59600-45811 is the part number for the rebuild kit for the 5/8" master cylinder.

The 78 GS1000E would be my guess.... right bore size and style for the dual brake bikes.

these look decent to me for the price but not stock
