Thank you. It was a race bike from day 1, Bonneville and El Mirage. I have a bunch of old paraphernalia on it. There's a thread here with some more pics

It looks pretty stock to me. If you don't count that detour in the exhaust.

Yep, looks pretty much stock except for red plug wires & exhaust. Back in the day, I had a Kawa. KZ1300 with one of those detoured exhausts on it, knowing how that 700 lb. locomotive ran, it's hard to imagine how it would feel on this 500 lb. GS 1100. Hoping to find the thread he's mentioned.

Look for that thread, shouldn't be too hard to find using oldGSfan's screen name as it is fairly recent. You will not be disappointed. That 11E has a distinguished provenance, including photos of it's record breaking runs at Bonneville in 1982.

I hyperlinked the word 'here' but it's hard to pick up due to the light color. Directly its:

Besides the engine bits and wheels, the non stock parts include the shorter turn signals, modified shifter, superbike bars, and footpeg to bring it out a bit for turbo clearance, red plug wires (not my choice but they are very nice items, Wolf I believe). It came with all the as new, never ridden stock carbs, pipes, and a lot more, I've sold much of it though, so slim pickens left.

I'm an inadvertant fan of Marhide. In 1974 I bought a 1964 Corvette convert 327/365, 4sp. Blue with black interior. 13 years after buying it I pulled the seats to have new carpet put in. Imagine my surprise to find daytona blue vinyl where it wrapped underneath. Called the original owner and he said yeah, I painted them with Marhide in the late 60s. 15+ years and I never saw any wear through. Good stuff
